Djenane St. Fleur Gourgue is a dynamic business leader, community advocate, and cultural ambassador with over 25 years of professional experience spanning business development, education, technology, and community service. As a visionary entrepreneur and passionate advocate, she has made an indelible impact on South Florida and the Haitian diaspora.
Djenane currently serves as the Vice President of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce, where she has successfully led operations for over a decade, achieving a 78% retention rate and increasing operational revenues by 21%. She is also the President of Afro Caribbean Groove PR Inc., where she leverages her expertise in project management, marketing, and business strategy to create impactful campaigns promoting cultural, social, and economic development.
Since 2010, Djenane has served as the Chairperson for Haiti with Lauderhill Sister Cities International, fostering cross-cultural exchanges and strengthening ties between Haiti and the United States. Her remarkable contributions to international collaboration earned her the prestigious Sister Cities International Award for Business, Trade, and Professional Exchange in 2023.
A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, Djenane is also a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses alumna and a graduate of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Economic Development Program. Her accolades include the Women of Distinction Award from the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce and a “Community First” certificate from the City of Miramar.
Djenane’s contributions extend beyond business. She is the creator and host of community-focused radio shows, including “Prekosyon Pa Kapon”, “Global Business Talk Show”, and “Community Conversations”, addressing critical topics such as health, business, and social issues. These programs amplify Haitian voices and provide vital resources to the community.
As a skilled project manager and consultant, Djenane has supported Fortune 500 companies, government entities, and local businesses with strategic initiatives, including technology migrations, marketing campaigns, and political advocacy.
Her advocacy is deeply personal. A breast cancer survivor of 20 years, Djenane recently published her memoir, “Presseverance”, chronicling her journey of resilience and determination. Her personal experiences have fueled her dedication to health awareness campaigns, including her role as a media sponsor for the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s “More Than Pink” Race.
Fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole, Djenane actively promotes Haitian culture, jazz music, and the arts. She is involved in key initiatives like Haitian Heritage Month, Breast Cancer Awareness, and Kreyol Month, ensuring the voices of the Haitian community are heard.
Since migrating to Florida in 1998, Djenane has established herself as a passionate community advocate and leader. She represents Broward and Palm Beach counties as Vice President of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce and has played a vital role as the Chairperson for Haiti with the Lauderhill Sister Cities program.
